Assignment 2

Assignment 2

1. What media is used in my everyday life?

There are many types of media that are used in our everyday lives. Media is known as the main means of mass communication. Some examples could be: TV, newspapers, internet and the radio. In my everyday life I use media by going on the internet to watch videos, and also by watching T.V.

2. In what ways have I used multimedia for a class assignment before?

I've used multimedia in this class for the past three weeks. I did a PowerPoint on how to edit an Instagram account by using screenshots. Also, I've used multimedia when I go on the Internet to look up information, or to save pictures for presentations.

3. Explain how the World Wide Web is considered multimedia.

The World Wide Web can be considered multimedia, because just like multimedia it uses one or more mediums of expression or communication. The World Wide Web is part of multimedia because for example, when using the internet, you can have many pages open at the same time. Basically, it is considered multimedia, because you can multitask while surfing the web.

4. What is the difference between time-based media and static-media? Give examples of each.

The difference between time-based media and static-media is that time-based media are images that that move. Some examples could be videos, music, and sometimes even pictures or gifs. Static- media is the media that does not move including newspapers, books, and magazines.

 5. Insert a video (into your blog) that discusses/shows/involves multimedia you are interested in. Now answer the following questions after you insert the video. How is this multimedia? Why does this interest you?

This video shows Justin Bieber singing to the song that got him to the place where he is right now. In other words this video made him get famous. This is considered multimedia, because if it wouldn't have been for YouTube, Justin would still be an average talented teenager. This interests me, because it's so crazy how one video that went viral on the internet, can get people so far in life.
6. Adobe Flash- a multimedia system for computers that is generally accessed through a web or browser.
